That, of course, is a figure of speech. It refers in no way to the weather, as you'd know from having read my whingy posts on how it never rains in Santiago. I could instead have said something about when you open yourself up to opportunities, they roll in. But that would have been too long a title.
I got some good news today - a job offer! Yay for me.
It is a really interesting job with nice people, good money and in an organisation that is damn hard to get into and where I would love to work. Doesn't get better than that, eh? And I can say that with all the certainty that comes with naive enthusiasm for a new job.
Only one problem - I'm here and the job is there. In Australia. Due to start in June.
Realistically, I don't know that I can uproot Maya from her life here and get her settled back home on my own in a couple of weeks. Get her into daycare in the middle of the year. Have the energy for a new, full time job and looking after a toddler on my lonesome. And won't az miss me over here? How will he get through our stash of wine alone?
Decisions, decisions. I'll make them another day (soon enough). For now, I'm just going to enjoy that feeling of being offered a job. And have a glass of wine to celebrate.

Ooh congratulations! My two cents: you will be working for the rest of your life and you will have many awesome jobs. Enjoy as much of this moment of being a kept woman as you can. xx
Too true. We shall see how "kept woman" works on my cv...
